Blood is that fragile scarlet tree, we carry within us.
~Osbert Sitwell

Your blood can tell a powerful story about your health, and a blood chemistry test—often referred to as annual bloodwork—is one of the most effective and affordable ways to monitor your body’s key functions. Jaketha is skilled in analyzing blood chemistry panels and can provide personalized, holistic wellness and nutrition recommendations based on your results. Together, you’ll develop a customized plan for ongoing health monitoring and maintenance.

Pathological vs Functional Analysis: What’s the Difference?

Most people are familiar with the bloodwork ordered by their primary care physician (PCP), which is used to diagnose diseases. This is known as pathological analysis.

However, from a holistic perspective, there’s a more proactive approach called functional analysis. Functional bloodwork analysis identifies potential health risks before conventional tests can detect them. While medical doctors use broad pathological ranges to label results as “normal,” functional analysis looks at more precise, optimal ranges, helping to identify imbalances long before they manifest as disease.

By the time pathological results align with your symptoms, the potential for disease is often higher, requiring more intensive medical interventions. Functional analysis can detect early signs of nutritional deficiencies, metabolic imbalances, and even organ dysfunction, allowing you to take preventive measures.

Why Blood Chemistry Testing Matters

For clients experiencing symptoms or those simply looking to optimize their health, we recommend a full chemistry panel and complete blood count (CBC). This helps to:

  • Establish a baseline, especially if you haven’t had recent bloodwork done.
  • Evaluate your current health and identify trends or patterns over time.
  • Detect potential nutritional or metabolic imbalances and create a holistic wellness plan.

Depending on your health needs, you may benefit from repeating these tests every six to twelve months.
